Bruins sign 6th round pick Anton Blidh

Welcome to Boston, Anton!

The Bruins have announced that today, May 29th, that they have signed Forward Anton Blidh to an Entry Level contract. The Swedish winger played in the Swedish Hockey League last season, totaling 5 goals, and also scored a postseason goal while playing in 13 games. He also represented Sweden in the World Junior under-20 hockey championship, and registered 1 goal and 2 assists.

Anton has attended Bruins development camps in the past, and was drafted by Boston in the sixth round in the 2013 draft.

This signing has marked Don Sweeney’s first since he was named GM.

Anton Blidh is described as a gritty, scrappy player, and Sweeney has compared him to current Bruins winger Brad Marchand.

This move is good for the Bruins, we have a young and bright future for our team, and I don’t feel worried. We know how to develop young players, and that is evident in young guys like David Pastrnak and Ryan Spooner.

Even he seems excited about joining the Bruins!

see you in october
